Your website

Connect your own domain

Put your site on a domain you own, like mysalon.com, with a guided setup and a helper.

Open this in your dashboard →

If you've bought a domain, you can point it at your Sotera site. Your Sotera address keeps working too.

Steps

  1. Go to Website and click Use my own domain.
  2. Under Your domain, type the domain you bought, like mysalon.com, and click Connect. We set up the www version too.
  3. A table shows the records to add. Above it, we show where your domain is registered and where its DNS settings are.
  4. Log in where you manage your domain (usually where you bought it) and add each record. Use Copy next to each value.
  5. Delete any other A record on the same host, or visitors may land on an old site.
  6. Back in Sotera, click Check again. Each record shows ✓ Found once it's in place, and the top says Connected when your domain works.

Good to know

  • Stuck? Under Need help?, click Walk me through it. The helper checks your domain live and gives steps for your provider. You can ask follow-up questions, like "I don't see a DNS tab".
  • Rather have a person help? Click Ask a person, describe the problem and click Send to Sotera support. Someone usually replies within a day, by email.
  • Changes usually work within an hour, sometimes up to a day.
  • Your own domain comes with the Pro plan. On other plans this page shows See plans.
  • To change domains, type the new one and click Change. To stop using it, click Disconnect domain; your site stays live on its Sotera address.
  • Once your domain works, we register it with Google automatically.

Still stuck? Open your dashboard and press Help: it can look at your account, and reach the Sotera team for you.
