Who sends them

Appointment texts are sent by Sotera, booking software for hair, nail, barber, brow and massage salons, operated by NINO LLC. Every text starts with "Sotera" and names the salon the client booked with. They are transactional texts about a booking the client made, never marketing.

How clients opt in

There is one way: on the salon's online booking page, at the last step ("Your details"), the client enters their mobile number and can tick a box to get appointment texts. The box is never ticked for them, it is separate from the email offers box, and booking works without it. When it is ticked, the time and the booking it came from are recorded as the consent.

What clients receive

A confirmation when they book, a note if the salon confirms, moves or cancels it, and a reminder the day before. For example:

  • Sotera: You're booked at Romzzy Hair for Knotless braids on Fri, Sep 25 at 10:30am. Change/cancel: sotera.to/b/P_K4Hpg0Tm-LegwdLj9KWw Reply STOP to opt out.

The link opens the client's own booking page on sotera.to, where they can change or cancel it.

How often, and the cost

Usually two to four texts per appointment. Message and data rates may apply.

Stopping and help

Reply STOP to any text to stop all of them; one final text confirms it. Reply START to opt back in. Reply HELP for help, which answers: "Sotera appointment texts for salons you've booked with. Msg frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out. Help: hello@sotera.to"
